The Rezidence Pod Portáškami project receives the ČKAIT award
The company TOP EXPO CZ has published the results of the 20th year of the nationwide ČEEP 2022 competition (Czech Energy and Ecological Project – Building – Innovation of the Year). Titles and other awards were presented at a ceremony on December 12, 2023, at the National Technical Museum in Prague. The awards were presented to the winners by Karel Havlíček, deputy speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
The award of the Czech Chamber of Certified Engineers and Technicians Engaged in Construction went to the Rezidence Pod Portáškami project by the investment group AEQUITAS (www.aequitasgroup.eu).
„The award was granted for a building of major significance for Velká Úpa, which addresses the current poor state of affairs along the main road. The building is intended, in part, to bring life back to Velká Úpa and, in part, to create the space for the town's missing square. The buildings feature above-standard insulation and use geothermal boreholes for energy operation, with FCU units (connected to the geothermal boreholes) for cooling the commercial spaces. Energy self-sufficiency is ensured in part by solar panels and a local distribution system from ČEZ. A dedicated borehole will be used to supplement drinking-water consumption, and the use of greywater is planned to reduce the production of wastewater.“
The planned Pod Portáškami project (www.rezidencepodportaskami.cz) comprises the construction of six buildings housing 159 apartments and a range of civic-amenity facilities, including a health center, shops, and services. The construction will have a fundamentally positive effect on the appearance of Velká Úpa, which will thus become a significant and dignified gateway to Pec pod Sněžkou.
